Mr Harley, a former school teacher, believes that traditional games like cards assist children's development in many ways; they:
- improve concentration and critical thinking skills.
- teach problem solving.
- help the child to learn about strategy, planning and tactics.
- teach the child to recognise the behaviour and objectives of others.
- help the child to understand the importance of cooperation.
- facilitate communication between children of different ages and between children and adults.
